Chemistry

Chemistry
It is not for me
It's just too hard to breathe
As I try
To speak the words
So mundane,
They must be

There's no equation
To explain what's
The matter, or the weight
Of such things
For what is
In the heart
Can never be seen.

Chemistry bogging you down?

No, honestly, I am sorry for you to have to do that. Chemistry sucks. It's difficult. And it IS mundane, like why does all that stuff matter?! Since we're not going to be scientists. Augh. But, school makes you take it. So, good luck!

I like the poem. Nice rhythm. Funny how even though it's about chemistry, which is boring, the poem is interesting. :)

I thought the same thing (except that I enjoyed all my science classes and when I was in high school and college our chemistry classes had labs where we were doing experiments and all that - I actually found my high school chem lab notebook not too long ago that had some of the experiments we did (I'm talking over 25 years old)) - but the poem was very nice - good rhythm and probably pretty true for lots of students - E :)

I guess I should have expected this reaction. But this poem is not supposed to be literally about Chemistry, the subject, but something that can happen between two people, which sometimes people call "chemistry".

Oh well. XD

OH!!!

It's about romantic chemistry! haha. I didn't get that before. *slaps forehead* Silly me.

Oh, I like this then. I really, really do! "the words," perhaps they are the word "I love you"? Very interesting. You definitely describe the feeling well. And there certainly is no equation.

It makes the last lines, "For what is/in the heart/Can never be seen" even more poignant. Hidden love.

I like it! :D

Wow - just call me dense - guess I didn't pick up on it either - maybe it was the starting line - that it wasn't for you - made me think subject right away - how hard chemistry is - okay guess I've never had the kind of chemistry you are describing - good job - E :)
